With a background working for a global cosmetic group, French beauty veteran Nicolas Gerlier experienced firsthand the overconsumption and waste production in the industry. He took a step back to reflect and decided to combine his love for luxury beauty and artisan design with sustainability. In 2017, he launched la bouche rouge—a groundbreaking Parisian line of refillable and responsible beauty objects free of all microplastics that rival the quality, performance, and experience of conventional makeup.
